Equidem ego regnũ vobis trado firmũ, ſi boni eritis: ſin mali, imbecillũ. NVM concordia paruæ res creſcunt, diſcordia maxume dilabuntur. Ceterum ante hoſte, Iugurtha, qui ætate, & ſapientia prior es, ne aliter quid eueniat, prouidere decet. NAM in omni certamine, qui opulentior eſt, etiam ſi accipit iniuriam, tamen qui plus poteſt, facere videtur.

Translation

Truly I hand over to you a strong kingdom, if you shall be good; but if evil, a weak one. For by harmony small things grow, by discord the greatest fall apart. Furthermore, Jugurtha, since you are superior in age and wisdom, it is fitting for you to provide that nothing else happens. For in every contest, he who is more powerful, even if he suffers the injury, nevertheless appears to be the one who inflicts it.
